Lend vs. Borrow

Lend
To give something to somebody for a short time and expect to get it back.
For example:
The library lend me the novel 'Pride and Prejudice'.
↳ lend (sb) sth
Borrow
To get something from somebody with the intention of giving it back after a short time.
For instance:
I borrow the novel 'Pride and Prejudice' from the library.
↳ borrow sth from (sb)
Remember❗
When you give sth to somebody, you lend it.
When you get or receive something from somebody, you borrow it.
