Hi guys! Do you know that The Book Day is celebrated on 23rd April?
This vocabulary lesson is about words related to 📚. Let's begin!


Bookshop /ˈbʊkʃɒp/
n. a shop or store that sells 📚.


Library /ˈlʌɪbri//ˈlʌɪbrəri/
n. a room or building containing 📚 that can be looked at or borrowed.

PUBLIC LIBRARY

Bookshelf /ˈbʊkʃɛlf/
n. a shelf that you keep 📚 on.

Audiobook /ˈɔːdɪəʊbʊk/
n. a reading of a 📕, especially a novel, recorded on a CD, etc.

E-book /ˈiːbʊk/
n. a 📕 that is displayed on a computer screen or an electronic device that is held in the hand (mobile phones, tablets, etc.), instead of being printed on paper.

E-book reader /ˈiːbʊk riːdə/
n. (also called e-reader) a hand-held device on which electronic versions of 📚, or other text in digital form, can be read.

P-book /ˈpiːbʊk/
n. a 📕 that is printed on paper.

Bookmark /ˈbʊkmɑːk/
n. a strip of paper, etc. that you put between the pages of a 📕 when you finish reading so that you can easily find the place again.

n. a person who enjoys reading.

Bookish /ˈbʊkɪʃ/
adj. (often disapproving) interested in reading and studying, rather than in more active or practical things.
