Journey vs. Trip

Hi guys! I'm sure that you have ever heard these words, which sometimes are confused.

Journey
When we talk about a journey, we refer about an ocassion when someone travels from a distance to another.
      It was a 10-hour train journey.
                                                 journey
This word is usually used about travelling long distances or travelling somewhere regurlarly.
      My journey to university normally takes around 50 minutes.

There are some expressions often used with journey.
start/begin a journey  -  go on a journey  -  set off on a journey 
the outward journey  -  a save journey  -  the homeward journey
a leg/stage of a journey
Trip
Trip means a visit to a place that involves a journey, for pleasure or a particular purpose.
      How was your trip to Mount Fuji?

There are some expressions often used with trip.
make a trip  -  go on a trip  -  take a trip 
a business trip  -  a return trip  -  a bus/train trip

Remember❗
When you refer about an occaion you travel from a place to another, you use journey.
While, when you talk about a visit to a place that involves a journey; you talk about a trip
