The teams drew 1-1. / (A team) drew with (Other Team).

The team outplayed us in the penalty shout-out.   ↔️   The oponent beat/defeated our team.

(A team) beat (other team) hollow.   ↔️   (A team) defeated (other team) easily.

In group A/B/C/etc., (a football team) advances.
