Hi guys❗ Let me tell you that I like 🎾. I enjoy watching tennis matches on TV, especially the matches played in the Grand Slam tournaments. Do you like this sport How many words and expressions related to tennis do you know❓

In case you can't remember some of them, don't 😟. I'll remind you the most well-known, they are:

Tennis /ˈten.ɪs/
A sport played between two or four 👨👩 on a court that involves hitting a 🎾 ball across a central net using a racket.

Tennis Player /ˈten.ɪs ˈpleɪ.ə/
A 👨/👩 whose job is to play 🎾 .

Tennis Ball /ˈten.ɪs bɔːl/
A small ball used for playing tennis.

Racket /ˈræk.ɪt/
A piece of sports equipment used for hitting the ball.

Court  /kɔːt/
The court is a marked out area on the ground on which a sport, such as tennis, is played.

Service Box  /ˈsɜː.vɪs ˌbɒks/
The area where the 🎾 👨/👩 serve into.

Net  /net/
A rectangular piece of material made from string, used to separate the two sides of the court.

Tennis Match  /ˈten.ɪs mætʃ/
A tennis match is an organized tennis event between two 🎾 👨s/👩s or teams.

A score of zero.

15  /ˌfɪfˈtiːn/
The score given to a 🎾 👨/👩 who has won one point.

30  /ˈθɜː.ti/
The score given to a 🎾 👨/👩 who has won two points.

40  /ˈfɔː.ti/
The score given to a 🎾 👨/👩 who has won three points.

Deuce /djuːs/
A tie that requires winning two points in a row to win the game.

Game /ɡeɪm/
A unit in scoring. A 🎾 👨/👩 wins a game after winning four o more points in a row.

Set  /set/
One section of the match. A 🎾 👨/👩 wins a set after winning six or more games in a row.

Tie-break  /ˈtaɪˌbreɪk/
A period of extra play to decide which player wins the set after both players have won six games.

Match point /ˌmætʃ  ˈpɔː ɪnt/
The last point of the match.

Umpire  /ˈʌm.paɪə/
The 👨/👩 whose job is to watch the game and make sure that the rules are not broken..

Boy/Girl ball /ː ɪ bɔːl/gɜː bɔːl/
A young 👦/👧 who callects the 🎾 balls during a match.

If you have never heard this saying,  you could get  😕  after you read it or maybe you´ve just guessed the meaning. Well, don´t be 😟, don´t 😢. Origin The origin youto keepiously comes from the incident of Van Gogh, the painter cutting his left ear off after a series of mental illnesses.
