Shout vs. Cry

Hi guys❗ I'm sure that you have ever heard these words, which sometimes are confused.

Shout
Shout means to say something very loudly when:
 1.You want 👨👩 to hear you in noisy situations.
      He shouted to me to wait for him.
              ↳ shout + to + sb + to infinitive
 2.You want to say to 👨👩 something you want.
    The woman shouted for help when hooligans were attacking a man.
                            ↳ shout + for help
 3.You want to express emotions such as fear, anger or excitement.
     Mike's neighbour shouted at him yesterday because Mike broke a window.
                                      ↳ shout + at + object
Additionally, you make a sudden loud noise because of a strong emotion such as joy, fear, pain, etc.
      The man was shouting in pain.
                          be + shouting in panic

Cry
If 👨👩 cry, they produce 💦 from their 👀 because of a strong emotion like 😐 or pain.
     It always makes me cry.
                                       cry
This verb also means to shout or say something loudly.
     She cry out in panic.
             cry + out + in panic
     'Hello!' she cried
                    cry
In other context, a 🐦 or other animal cries, when they make a loud noise.
     The kitten was crying.
                        be + crying


Remember❗
We use shout, when we want to say something loudly to somebody in a noisy situation, when we want someone to pay attention to us because we want to say something, or to express emotions like anger, fear, etc.
While, we use the verb cry to refer to shed tears because of a strong emotion, or to say that an animal make a loud call.
In case people utter a loud noise due to a strong emotion like fear or pain, or to say something loudly, we say that they are shout it or they are cry it.
