Light vs. Lighting


Hi guys❗ I'm sure that you have ever heard these words, which sometimes are confused.

Light
This word has different meanings.
Light can mean energy from the 🌞,🔥,🔦, etc. that makes it possible to see things.
      This is a room with good natural light.
              ↳ (natural/artificial/etc.) light
We say this noun to refer to a thing that produces light, especially electric light.
      Please, turn the lights on.
              ↳ turn/switch the lights on/off
Also, light is the way 👨👩 name a match or device with which they can light a 🚬 .

Light is a synonym of gleam when we refer to an expression on someone's  👀 that shows how they are thinking or feeling.

Another meaning of light is a way of referring to a match, device, etc. used to light a cigarette or another thing that produce electric light.
In architecture, a light is a window in a wall or the roof to allow light into a room.
While, lighting could mean the type of light in a place or how lights are used to achieve a particular effect; and this noun also is used to refer to the use of electric light.
