With 'On'

Hi guys❗ 2019 is almost upon us. Due to it, today we'll go over some phrasal verbs. Do you remember phrasal verbs with the preposition 'on'

If you don't. Well, I'll remind you some of them. Let's begin❗

Clock in/on
To record the ⏳ 👨👩 arrive to their workplace, especially by putting a card into a special machine.
     Susan is always punctual, but today she clocked in late because she had forgotten a 📁.
                                                                           ↳ clock in
*🇬🇧 English speakers say 'Clock in/on', while 🇺🇸 English speakers use it but also they say 'Punch in'.

Cheer (sbon
To encourage 👨👩 in a competition shouting louder.
     This year, Novak Djokovic participated in the Laver Cup, so that many of his fans were there to cheer him on.
                                                               ↳ cheer (sbon
*Laver Cup is a tennis event where fourteen of the world-class players participate in.

Grow on (sb)
If a 👨/👩 or something grows on you, you like them more and more than before.
        The Kingkiller Chronicle series has grown on me.

Keep on
1. To continue doing something, or to do something many times.
        Don't give up! You just have to keep on trying.
                                            ↳ keep on (doing sth)
2.  To speak repeatedly to 👨👩 in an annoying way.
        If she didn't keep on at them, homework would never get done.
                                     ↳ keep on (at sb / about sth)

Let on (to sb)
To tell 👨👩 a secret.
     Robert writes a 📘 but don't let on to anyone.
                                                        ↳ let on to sb

Light on/upon sth
To see or find something by chance or accident.
     His eye lit upon a 🌠.
                    ↳ light upon sth
